Student Growth and Learning. At St. Thomas, learning goes beyond the classroom. Through co-curricular experiences, students build the knowledge, skills, and perspectives that support their academic success, personal growth, well-being, and meaningful engagement in a diverse, interconnected world

Student Leadership Scholarship

The Student Leadership Scholarship Awards at the University of St. Thomas were created to identify and award scholarship aid to candidates who excel in – and are committed to – leadership, community service, and the St. Thomas mission. The awards honor several undergraduate students from all walks of campus life who demonstrate a deep commitment to the St. Thomas mission. Scholarship award recipients will be selected by the Leadership Scholarship Award Committee.

Those leaders selected will receive awards starting at $1,000 credited to their St. Thomas account.

On-Campus Student Employment

Student employment on campus is more than just a job—it’s an opportunity to grow, lead, and build skills that last well beyond college. Through meaningful work experiences, students develop professionalism, strengthen communication and problem-solving abilities, and gain confidence in navigating workplace expectations.

Whether supervising peers, managing projects, or contributing to campus initiatives, student employees often step into leadership roles that prepare them for future careers. Along the way, they build strong relationships with mentors and colleagues, explore their interests, and make a lasting impact on the campus community.

Planting Seeds Mural

The Mural Project first started in 2016 and was fueled by students’ desire to have an artwork that represents the unique stories and diversity of the campus community at University of St. Thomas.

First-Gen Tommies

The University of St. Thomas was selected to be a part of a First-Gen Forward cohort through the Center for First-Generation Student Success (NASPA). This designation recognizes institutions of higher education who have demonstrated a commitment to improving experiences and advancing outcomes of first-generation college students.

Student Memorial

The Memorial for Deceased Students provides a place on campus where we can mourn the loss of beloved St. Thomas community individuals and reflect upon the impact they had — on us, our friends, and the entire campus community. It sits at the heart of university student life, allowing everyone to honor the memory of all who have passed.

Welcome Days

Welcome Days is a required comprehensive educational and social program designed to prepare incoming first-year students to succeed at St. Thomas and we are very excited to welcome our newest Tommies to St Thomas this fall. Students will connect with other students, faculty and staff and participate in a variety of sessions, events and traditions. Welcome Days provides students an important opportunity to meet other students, explore campus and prepare to start the year.
