Safety on Campus

The safety of students, faculty, staff, and visitors is the top priority of the St. Thomas Public Safety Department. That’s why, across our campuses, we engage in wide-ranging safety efforts. Our comprehensive services help Tommies study, work and live in a safer and more secure campus environment.

Public Safety Services

The Public Safety Department is here for the students, employees and guests of the university. From responding to medical emergencies and crimes to providing campus escorts and vehicle jump starts to safety inspections, campus patrols and camera monitoring, our team's focus is the care and safety of the campus community.

Crime Prevention

In the Public Safety Department, we do more than respond to crimes once they happen. Prevention is just as important when it comes to keeping Tommies safe. We provide a directory of safety tips designed to empower the St. Thomas community to take a proactive approach to their own safety.

Crime Reporting

The Public Safety Department wants all members of the St. Thomas community to stay well informed to be able to make the best decisions regarding their safety. We provide a range of crime and safety information, including timely alerts and community notifications which fulfill the requirements of the Clery Act.
