Individual Counseling
You can work with a counselor to explore your concerns and work toward a better understanding and resolution of your difficulties. Our counseling approach is short-term and goal-oriented, which means sessions are geared toward direct and active intervention to help students achieve specific goals. Most students achieve their goals in 5-8 sessions, but individuals are unique, and the actual number of sessions needed is a collaborative decision made between student and counselor. Individual counseling sessions are either 30 or 50 minutes long, and meet weekly or bi-weekly depending upon your treatment plan.
At times, your counselor may recommend a referral to a community provider for longer-term issues or more specialized care, such as eating disorders or substance use.
See Counseling Rights & Responsibilities for more information on what to expect from counseling.

COVID-19 Counseling Protocol
Counseling services are provided both in person and by telehealth. In-person services are limited to fully vaccinated students and are conducted with masks on (both counselor and student).
For telehealth sessions, students must provide their own technology (laptop, phone, or tablet), have access to reliable Wi-Fi connection, and use of a private, confidential space in which to conduct sessions.
