    • Why Submit a Deposit?

    Submit a $400 deposit to reserve your place in the class.

    This deposit reserves your place in on-campus housing and half of the deposit will be applied to your housing bill at the beginning of the term. The date you submit it is one of many factors that determine your housing placement.

    If you're granted an exception from our on-campus living requirement, half of your deposit will be applied to your tuition charges and half will be applied to other student fees.

    If you applied with the St. Thomas application, submit your deposit online by visiting the St. Thomas Admissions Application Portal.

    If you applied with the Common App and have not claimed your St. Thomas Portal, submit your deposit online by first claiming your St. Thomas Admissions Application Portal.

    Prefer to Pay through the Mail?

    Print the Deposit Mailing Form and mail, with your deposit, to the address listed on the bottom of the form.

    Important Dates

    For students starting in spring and fall 2025, this is an overview of the upcoming milestones in your transition to St. Thomas. If you're ready for all the details, you'll find them in our website for New First-Year Students.

    Fall 2025

    • May 1: All students are required to submit a $400 deposit by May 1, 2025, to reserve their place in the class. You can submit your deposit through the St. Thomas Admissions Portal.
    • Orientation & Registration (O&R) information mailed; O&R sign-up opens (held in July); Course Preference Form opens (used to determine your top choices for fall courses); online orientation course opens. 

      Details about Orientation & Registration

    • Submit your final official high school transcript, AP/IB test scores and any official college transcripts for credits earned while in high school.

    • Attend an Orientation & Registration session. You have the opportunity to choose the in-person date that works best for you!

    • Official move-in date communicated to your St. Thomas email account.

    • First day of classes.

    Spring 2025

    • For students who have submitted their deposit, Residence Life will send an email with instuction on how to complete housing preferences online. 
    • Late November: Students will receive an email from Academic Advising to set up a date to meet for registration and placement. Placement assessments will be completed after the meeting.

    • Orientation & Registration (O&R) information mailed.

    • January 26: Attend Orientation from 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
    • January 31: Deposit refund deadline.

    • February 3: First day of classes.

    Financial Aid and Scholarships

    Your admittance letter contained information about your St. Thomas scholarship or award. You will receive a supplemental comprehensive financial aid package if you completed the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

    Be sure to check on other St. Thomas scholarships (including some full-tuition ones) you may be eligible for and contact Financial Aid with any questions.
