Facilities Management has numerous construction projects on the St. Paul and Minneapolis campuses. Every new project, from residence hall remodels to brand new construction, goes through a rigorous process to ensure we are building sustainable buildings for the future.
The Schoenecker Center will be the university's primary facility for STEAM education at St. Thomas. See below for highlights of construction and progress reports for this first-of-its-kind facility which is scheduled to open in 2024. See more details in the Construction Management Plan which includes site logistics information.
The summer on south campus has been an active one as construction crews continue work on the four-story, $110 million Schoenecker Center supporting engineering, arts and the sciences. The new facility is scheduled to open next spring. Staff videographer Nick Clausen used a first-person view drone to capture footage of the progress.
Coming Soon
The Lee and Penny Anderson Arena will be the new home for Tommie Men's and Women's Ice Hockey programs, as well as the Tommie Men's and Women's Basketball programs! Located on the University's South Campus in St. Paul, the arena will also include state-of-the-art practice facilities for both ice hockey and basketball. The Lee and Penny Anderson Arena will create conditions for success to directly support student-athletes and provide the campus community with a facility that can be used for multiple events.
