Sustainability Living Learning Community
Through your experiences, you will engage in experiential activities to understand the complexity of key environmental themes and explore sustainable solutions. You will build community in Tommie North Residence Hall and the course employs case studies, computer mapping exercises, community partners, and some field work to actively examine important environmental issues facing humanity today.
You will participate in an overnight camping trip in September and visit a preserve owned and managed by The Nature Conservancy. Not only will you get to see conservation work in action and meet professionals working for one of the world’s leading environmental organizations, you will also get to know your fellow classmates as you hang out by the campfire and explore an amazing prairie. You will also conduct fieldwork throughout the semester as you engage with a local community partner on water issues in the Twin Cities.
This LLC is limited to 42 students.
