Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Graduation is the completion of all coursework and degree requirements (and processing of final grades), after which a student is officially awarded a degree. Commencement is a ceremony (held in May each year) to celebrate our graduates, but it is not the same as graduation.
You can review your degree evaluation at any time online or with your advisor. Undergraduate students will receive notification from the Office of Student Data & Registrar when they are eligible to graduate. Graduate students will receive notification from their program when they are eligible to graduate.
All students who are eligible to participate in the ceremony will receive an email in November 2023 (or after depending on time of eligibility) with information on how to RSVP via Murphy Online.
Yes – students who are eligible to participate in the commencement ceremony must RSVP via Murphy Online no later than March 15, 2024. Your RSVP will include providing information for ordering your regalia (cap, gown, etc).
Commencement regalia is provided at no cost to our graduates but they must register by March 15th to be guaranteed the size they order. Graduates must also RSVP online in order to receive their guest tickets.
Graduates should report to the check-in area in the AARC Arena no later than one hour prior to the start of the ceremony. Detailed day-of instructions will be sent to you approximately one week prior to your Commencement ceremony.
All regalia is provided at no cost to graduates and must be ordered via Murphy Online.
Undergraduate Students
Must order by March 15, 2024 to ensure receiving size ordered and available at Grad Fest on May 3rd for pick up. For those who miss this deadline, they can still RSVP and receive a cap and gown based on size availability up until April 1st.
If graduates do not pick up their cap and gown at Grad Fest, information will be available on when they can pick it up at the Bookstore in LL MHC.
Graduate Students
All doctoral candidates must RSVP by March 15, 2024 to ensure their doctoral regalia will arrive in time for commencement.
All graduates will receive an email when regalia is available for pick-up. Students can request to have regalia mailed to them for a charge.
