SANE Exam

A Sexual Assault Nurse Exam (SANE) is a medical exam designed to provide compassionate, trauma-informed care to individuals who have experienced sexual assault. Conducted by one of our specially trained nurse practitioner (NP) or registered nurse (RN), the exam prioritizes your physical and emotional well-being.

In addition to medical care, the exam may include the collection of forensic evidence and documentation of any injuries—information that can be used by legal authorities if you choose to report the assault. Throughout the process, the SANE nurse offers emotional support and works at your pace, ensuring that you remain informed and empowered every step of the way.
