Appointments with a Registered, Licensed Dietitian RDN, LD are available to students through the Center for Well-Being. A dietitian is a healthcare professional with expertise in nutrition who works with individuals to improve their health through diet. Dietitians are an important part of integrative health care.

Why work with a dietitian?

  • To achieve and/or maintain a healthy diet/weight/body image
  • To learn ways to increase energy and a sense of well-being
  • On-campus support for current or previous challenges with disordered eating
  • Support for transitioning to healthy eating for off-campus living
  • Support for eating in the dining halls considering food allergies, food preferences, or underlying health conditions that require a specific diet
  • Nutrition support for improving sports performance
  • Any other dietary questions or concerns

What is the process for meeting with the Registered Dietician?

Your first meeting with the dietitian is typically an hour. This allows time for the dietitian to learn about your nutrition, concerns, goals, and needs. Together you will come up with a nutrition plan. Typically, a follow-up appointment will be made in 2-4 weeks to review progress and questions. Depending on your need, additional appointments can be scheduled.

How much does it cost to see the Registered Dietician?

After an appointment with the dietitian, your Health Care Insurance is billed. The amount of coverage depends on your insurance. If you have questions regarding this process, you can work with the CWB Insurance Specialist, Kathie St. Mary, (651) 962-6752.
