Should you apply as a first-year or a transfer student?
You are a first-year student if you have never attended a college or university after secondary school.

We require transcripts from all high schools, colleges and universities that you’ve attended—both in the United States and abroad. If the transcript includes a grading scale, please make sure that’s included as well.
For international first-year students, unofficial transcripts are acceptable during the application phase. However, official transcripts are required upon arrival at St. Thomas.
For international transfer students, official transcripts are required during the application process to allow for proper evaluation of your transfer credits.
International students are required to prove a minimum level of English proficiency to be admitted to St. Thomas.
You will need to submit copies of the picture page from your passport and your dependents' passports if they will be accompanying you.
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months after you first enter the U.S. However, we strongly recommend that your passport be valid for the duration of your study here.
