Registration for Undergraduate Courses by Graduate Students

Date Implemented: April 09, 2009

An admitted graduate student may register for a course offered at the undergraduate level if the student has graduate program approval, meets the course prerequisites, and space is available in the course. The student must obtain the instructor’s permission for registration. Registration for graduate students in undergraduate courses will be completed by the graduate program beginning no earlier than 5 working days prior to the beginning of the undergraduate term to avoid filling the needed registration space required for undergraduate students. Undergraduate credit cannot be applied to a graduate degree.

Important Note: In the absence of a more stringent policy at the school or college level the University Graduate Academic Policies apply. Should a graduate program not have a specific policy or should there be omissions or gaps in the policy for a specific graduate school program, the University Graduate Policy shall govern.

The Graduate Academic Policies are the responsibility of the Graduate Curriculum Committee Convener. For additions or revisions contact gradcurriculum@stthomas.edu.
