Dropping from Courses

Date Implemented: October 01, 1999
Date Revised: February 24, 2009

In order to drop from one or more classes during a term (to withdraw from all classes see withdrawal policy), a student may use the self-service registration system or notify the registration staff of his/her program. The date on which the class is dropped or the date of notification will be entered into the student's record as the drop date. The financial aid implications are governed by Student Financial Services policies. The grades for the dropped classes will be determined by the graduate program according to their policies.

Annotation of the dropped course(s) on the transcript will be determined by the graduate program policy.

Important Note: In the absence of a more stringent policy at the school or college level the University Graduate Academic Policies apply. Should a graduate program not have a specific policy or should there be omissions or gaps in the policy for a specific graduate school program, the University Graduate Policy shall govern.

The Graduate Academic Policies are the responsibility of the Graduate Curriculum Committee Convener. For additions or revisions contact gradcurriculum@stthomas.edu.
