What's Happening on Campus?

Selim Center Lifelong Learning programs aren't the only events that you can take part in on campus! This is a list of other upcoming events and programs put on by our UST colleagues that Selim Center students might be interested in checking out:

  • "Ms. Magazine to Teen Vogue: Essential Feminist Journalism" Join the LDWC for a moderated discussion between Elaine Welteroth and Dr. Janell Hobson. These two heavy-hitters of journalism will be weighing in on the long history of crucial feminist voices in the ever-changing media landscape. This evening is the latest in over 30 years of the March Women's History Speakers Series sponsered by the Luann Dummer Center for Women. March 5th , 7:00-8:30, OEC Auditorium, Click the link in title to register

  • "50 Years of Feminism—A Documentary Project":The Luann Dummer Center for Women invites all Selim Center students and friends to share their reflections on feminism as they have thought and experienced it in their own lives. Interested participants can meet with JoLee Karnz either virtually or in-person, and may (if they choose) be featured on a podcast series produced by the Luann Dummer Center to be shared with the broader community. For more information or to schedule an interview, please contact JoLee Karnz (jolee.karnz@stthomas.edu) or Arianna Wegley (wegl8157@stthomas.edu).

  • "What's in the Gallery?" - Have you checked out the Sustainability Arts Gallery (located outside the OEC Auditorium) lately? This rotating gallery is a collaboration of the Office of Sustainability Initiatives and the College of Arts and Sciences Curatorial Team. The Sustainability Arts Gallery is an evolving, living space, continuously activated with new artwork, interdisciplinary research, and interactive activities. Through the integration of research, art, and experiences, this space seeks to inspire us to explore and deepen our understanding of and appreciation for the ecosystems that sustain us and our ability to care for our common home. This month's exhibit, titled Salt of a Lost Winter, explores the importance of "salting smart" during the winter season. Check it out next time you are on campus!
