Safety in your pocket

SafeZone

Modern solutions for emergency notifications and more

The Department of Public Safety at the University of St. Thomas has notably upgraded its notification and alert systems, ensuring a safer environment for all. One of the key tools available to students is the SafeZone app, which is both free and user-friendly. Students can easily download it onto their mobile phone, giving you peace of mind knowing they have an efficient way to access immediate assistance and important safety information. Be sure to encourage students to download the app.

App Features

With SafeZone, students can instantly connect with Public Safety for emergencies, medical needs, personal safety concerns, and more. The app also allows discreet two-way texting with Public Safety Dispatchers to coordinate help when they need it.

Examples of how SafeZone can help:

  • A student witnesses someone breaking into a vehicle.
  • A student's friend needs medical assistance.
  • A student feels unsafe but don't want to be seen calling for help. Use SafeZone to quietly text Public Safety.
  • Students that want quick access to mental health and well-being resources.
  • A student is working late, walking across campus at night, or heading to their car—use the “Check-In” timer for added peace of mind.
