Yoga for Well-Being

The Center for Well-Being offers traditional mindful based yoga classes for students to improve their overall health and well-being.

The practice of yoga is over 5000 years old and originated in India. It is a holistic practice involving the mind, body, breath, and lifestyle choices to bring about a state of health, wholeness and peace.

Three foundational practices of yoga students will be introduced to are:

  • Postures to increase flexibility, strength, and balance.
  • Breathing practices to improve respiration, health, and vitality.
  • Mindfulness practices to focus and quiet the mind.

Together these practices improve overall health, reduce stress, calm the nervous system, elevate mood, focus the mind, and increase resilience. Classes are appropriate for all levels of experience and there is an emphasis on listening to your body and taking care of yourself.
