Campus Visit

For high school seniors and transfer students, a personalized campus visit is a great opportunity to learn more about the University of St. Thomas and see our beautiful St. Paul campus. Select from a variety of appointment options, and we will build a customized schedule based on your interests. This page contains information about the appointment options to choose from, how to prepare for your visit and answers to some frequently asked questions!

Important Campus Visit Notes:

  • The start time and length of your visit will depend on how many appointments you select (each appointment will take between 30 and 60 minutes) and the availability of faculty and staff.
  • A finalized itinerary, with your visit start and end times, will be sent to the email address(es) provided during registration as soon as your visit is complete, no later than 48 hours ahead of your scheduled visit.
  • For high school students in their junior year or younger, we offer an On-Campus Information Session Monday - Friday. Register for an upcoming date here.

Appointment Options During Registration

As you are completing your registration, you will be able to select from the following appointment options:

Recommended for Every Campus Visitor:

  • Admissions & Financial Aid Overview – an individual meeting with an admissions counselor where you will learn about St. Thomas’ majors and programs, student life, our application process, and scholarship opportunities.
  • Campus Tour – take a campus tour with a current student. You’ll have the opportunity to see our classrooms, study spaces, dining services, a residence hall and more!

Major-Specific Appointment Options:

  • Faculty Appointment – get connected with a faculty member in your area of interest individually or with a small group. These appointments are available based on faculty availability.
  • Engineering Tour – meet one-on-one with a faculty member while getting a tour of the engineering facilities. We will do our best to pair you with a faculty member from your concentration of interest.
  • Nursing Information Session – for students interested in our Bachelor of Science in Nursing program, meet with nursing faculty to learn about this undergraduate major. Available on Mondays at 1:30 p.m. or Fridays at 10 a.m. only.
  • Business Information Session – meet with a representative from the Opus College of Business to learn more about our acclaimed undergraduate business program.

Additional Appointment Options:

As part of your campus visit, you also can request a meeting with a representative from the following departments:

  • Campus Ministry (can include meetings with a Catholic Priest, Protestant Minister, Muslim Chaplain, or a Jewish Rabbi)

We can accommodate admissions appointments in languages other than English with advanced notice (1 week preferred). Please indicate your interest in these appointment options when you complete your campus visit registration.

    The Office of Admissions is located on the second floor of the Murray-Herrick Campus Center (Room 256) on the St. Paul campus.

    Murray-Herrick Campus Center is located off Cleveland Avenue and Ashland Avenue, and is searchable in Google Maps and Apple Maps.

    Parking Options

    Free parking for admissions visitors is available in the Frey Hall Parking Garage (75 Cleveland Avenue North, St. Paul, Minnesota) located off Cleveland Avenue and Ashland Avenue. This parking garage is located beneath Frey Hall, the building on your right as you enter the surface parking lot off Cleveland Avenue. The entrance to the garage is located in the middle of the building. The garage door will automatically open as you approach to enter. Park in any space on the first level that has an Admissions Visitor Parking sign. Additional directions and a unique parking code will be provided via email prior to your scheduled visit. Use this code and your vehicle’s license plate number at the parking pay station located in the Frey Hall lobby. Keep the printed receipt.

    If spaces in Frey Hall Parking Garage are full, additional visitor parking is available in the Anderson Parking Facility located on the corner of Grand Avenue and Cretin Avenue. Park anywhere in this facility. Use the same parking code and your vehicle’s license plate number at the parking pay station located in the facility lobby. Keep the printed receipt. The Anderson Parking Facility is located about a 10-minute walk from the Murray-Herrick Campus Center.

    The entrance to the parking facilities has a clearance of 8’ - 2” and some parking spaces have a 7’ clearance. If your vehicle won’t fit inside the parking facilities, please call our office at (651) 962-6154.

    The University of St. Thomas is located in the Merriam Park neighborhood of St. Paul - between the downtowns of both Minneapolis and St. Paul – known as the Twin Cities. Both cities offer unique arts and culture, professional sports, shopping, food and entertainment and incredible outdoor options too!

    Our St. Paul campus borders the Mississippi River and historic Summit Ave, perfect for walking, running and biking. Make sure to save time during your visit to explore the Twin Cities!
