A little about me

I grew up in Owatonna, Minn. about an hour south of St. Paul, in a family of 4 (+ a few dogs). I graduated from St. Thomas in the spring of 2015 with a degree in Business Communications and a minor in Spanish. In my downtime, I love to swim, travel, watch movies, garden and cook! My favorite foods, favorite movies and favorite music all change depending on the day- but they tend to be burgers, the Holiday and whatever is on the radio. I am so excited to be working at St. Thomas! My time as a Tommie offered me so much more than an education- my time spent in clubs, growing in my faith, studying abroad in Spain, Ecuador and Italy and making lifelong friendships have all changed my life for the better. Once a Tommie, always a Tommie!

Why I chose St. Thomas

As I began my college search, I knew I didn’t want to be far away from home. I also knew that the Twin Cities were thriving, vibrant and would offer me great opportunities during and after college. St. Thomas was actually the first school I visited and it was love at first sight! As I continued to learn about and visit other schools, it felt like a formality. My heart already knew where it wanted to call home and I spent the next few months comparing all of my other college visits to St. Thomas. In the end, nowhere else even compared and it was the simplest decision of my life. (The big cookies and fact that purple is my favorite color may have influenced that decision a bit…)

A word of advice when choosing a college

First off, think about the size of school you want to attend. Knowing that fact will help you narrow down your options and will help you select a few schools to tour that you are very interested in. Additionally, think about other things you hope to gain from or be a part of in college- internships, clubs to join, study abroad opportunities, musical groups, etc. - take those items you are interested in and make sure your top school choices offer the things you desire. Those items may even help you to narrow your choices!
