Peer Health Educator Program

Peer Health Educators (PHEs) are student leaders committed to promoting healthy lifestyles and empowering their peers to make informed choices. Through engaging outreach, interactive programs, and positive role modeling, PHEs help create a campus culture that values well-being and personal safety.

Our mission is to provide accurate, relatable health education that encourages students to make choices that support their overall wellness and success.

What We Do:

  • Develop and lead fun, creative, and educational programs for the St. Thomas community

  • Raise awareness on key health topics through peer-to-peer outreach

  • Foster open, respectful dialogue about health, wellness, and safety

Training:

Each PHE data-teams="true">undergo training informed by the NASPA Peer Educator curriculum every year. This training equips students with essential skills in leadership, communication, and health education.

  • Physical Well-Being

  • Mental Well-Being

  • Alcohol and Other Drug Education

  • Violence Prevention

Applications for the PHE programs are accepted in spring for the fall semester. We ask for a one year commitment.
