Enrollment Verification

The Office of Student Data and Registrar contracts with the National Student Clearinghouse (NSC) to process loan deferment forms and to report student enrollment statuses to respective agencies, such as the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS). Enrollment statuses will be automatically reported to federal loan servicers through the NSLDS and should not require individual loan deferment forms to be completed.

Due to contractual obligations with NSC, the University can only report student enrollment data for all students based on one standard academic calendar. As such, the University defaults to the undergraduate academic calendar. The Office of Student Data and Registrar will begin to report the enrollment statuses of all students after the add/drop period, which is the 10th business day of each academic term.

If a student requests the Office of Student Data and Registrar to submit a loan deferment form, it will be submitted after the 10th business day of the academic term.

Current students can access their reported enrollment status by logging into the NSC Student Self-Service portal. Current students can use the link on the Request Enrollment Verification card located under the Grades & Transcripts menu in Murphy Online to be automatically logged into the Student Self-Service portal.

Loan Deferment Requests

All loan deferment request forms received by the Office of Student Data and Registrar are sent to the National Student Clearinghouse (NSC) for processing. If your lender sends you a deferment form to be processed, bring it in, mail it, or fax it to the Office of Student Data and Registrar.

Loan deferment forms are sent to the NSC after the 10th business day of the fall and spring semesters. After the 10th day of the semester, forms are sent as they are received. Any loan deferment forms received outside of the fall or spring semesters will be held by the Office of Student Data and Registrar, and sent after the 10th business day of the following semester.

If you have any questions about the deferment process, please contact your lender. The Office of Student Data and Registrar is only responsible for reporting your enrollment status and does not determine your eligibility for deferment.
