  • Take necessary placement exams in math, world languages, chemistry, and/or English.
  • Read the Orientation & Registration (O&R) Guide to Course Registration website (Orientation & Registration).
  • Complete Online Course Preference form prior to your O&R session (necessary for academic counselors to register you for fall classes).
  • Submit official transcripts from colleges/universities from which you have previously earned credit.
  • Attend a summer O&R program. Visit with academic counselors about your first semester class schedule and major options at St. Thomas while attending O&R.
  • Following Orientation and Registration, familiarize yourself with the Center for Student Achievement to engage and prepare yourself to achieve personal and academic goals. 
  • Talk about your interest in studying abroad with your academic counselor during summer orientation.
  • Consider a January-Term course abroad (there are many that don't require prerequisites).
