Welcome UST Students!

Study abroad is an amazing journey. Each year over 800 UST students study abroad, and they will tell you it was one of the best things they did while a student here.

Semester/Year Program Updates
  • The 2009 Minnesota Re-Entry Conference will be held at Augsburg College on September 19th, 2009.  It’s not too early  to register!  This year’s conference will feature Jenn Bottke as the keynote speaker, student panels and many break-out sessions.  Join more than 150 students from across the state to discuss your study abroad experience.  To register, go to Coming Home: Making Personal and Professional Use of Your International Experience.
  • It’s not too early to start thinking about studying abroad Spring 2010.  Attend a First Step Session or schedule an appointment with a Peer Advisor  to learn about your options.  The spring study abroad deadline is October 1.
  • As an alternative to attending a First Step Session at the International Education Center, you can now “attend” a first step session online!  The International Education Center recommends attending a First Step Session prior to meeting with a Study Abroad Advisor.
"Studying abroad opens your eyes to many new opportunities and possibilities.  Before I went, I did not realize what a bubble I lived in." "From this, I realized just how important it is to explore and travel new lands and to discover the infinite opportunities there are in the world for me." "How many times do you get the chance to fulfill general education requirements in Rome?"
"I have actually taken all of my courses abroad to fulfill requirements - they just happened to be in exotic locations."
"A wise old man from Belize once told me that he has not worn shoes in over twenty years. Take your shoes off for a while and view things from his perspective."
"This was the first time I was "given" a city and told to explore"
"Costa Rica is not a developed nation and it was great to see people who are satisfied in life without all of the possessions we think are necessary."
"On top of that, for anyone studying a language, being able to speak the language outside of the classroom speeds up your knowledge of that language exponentially."
