Make an appointment with us
While walk-ins are always welcome, making an appointment with us guarantees that you'll have up to an hour with the consultant. We offer three different appointment types: face-to-face, eTutoring, and online. See the sections below for more information.
Our most common appointment style is working one-to-one with a consultant in the Center for Writing space: JRC 361 for Monday-Friday appointments and OSF-Library room 102 for Sunday evening appointments. Check out the video below for step-by-step instructions to make a face-to-face appointment.
For eTutoring appointments, you don't need to be present (in-person or online) during the appointment. Instead, you'll attach a draft to the appointment form. The consultant will review it during the appointment time and then email it, along with their comments, back to you. This is a great appointment style if you are unable to physically make it the CFW space and are busy during our regular hours.
This video will give you step-by-step instructions for making an eTutoring appointment, including how to attach your draft and access consultant feedback.
During this appointment type, you are able to working online with the consultant, sharing a screen, reviewing the draft together, and messaging back and forth. An online appointment is a fantastic option if you are unable to physically make it to the CFW space but would still like to have a conversation with the consultant.
This video will provide more information about the dynamics of online appointments.
