St. Thomas Day of Service

The Center for the Common Good and the Tommies Together Volunteer Programming Board invite students to attend The St. Thomas Day of Service on Saturday, April 21th .

Besides contributing to a great "all-for-the-common good" volunteer initiative within the broader Twin Cities community, you'll also have the opportunity to meet and have fun with fellow Tommies, alumni, and community partners.

 Volunteer opportunities include:

  • Working with Second Harvest food shelf
  • Preparing flower beds with the City of St. Paul
  • Cleaning the Mississippi River with UST’s Sustainability Club
  • Neighborhood beatification with Neighborhood Relations

The day will begin in McCarthy Gym on South Campus. Doors open at 11:00am , Check in is at 11:15am - the first 200 students will receive a free t-shirt. All supplies and transportation will be provided.

St. Thomas Days of Service

Starting this year, St. Thomas will host both a fall and spring semester day of service!  Days of Service are an excellent way to meet fellow Tommies, explore new community partners, and earn volunteer hours.

Caring for our Common Home

Thanks and congrats go out to all members of the St. Thomas community who came out in support of the 3rd Annual St. Thomas Day of Service! Earth Day 2017 resulted in more than 500 hours to cleaning our community streets, green spaces, and riverfront.

Thank you to our Tommies Volunteers and all the student groups who helped plan the event: DAB, Happy Tommies, NRHH, RHA, Sigma Chi, Silver Wings, STAR, Sustainability Club, USG, VIA and VISION. Thank you, Tommies!

Day of Service History

Each spring, the University of St. Thomas community dedicates a day to join together in a united effort to further the common good of our human family.

In 2015 and 2016, the Tommies Together St. Thomas Day of Service partnered with the non-profit, Feed My Starving Children to host a mobile meal packing event. St. Thomas students, faculty, staff, alumni, neighbors, and other friends of the University hand-packed thousands of meals specifically formulated for malnourished children. These meals were sent to nearly 70 different countries across the world.

The next Tommies Together: St. Thomas Spring Day of Service will be held April 2018.  Additional information will be posted as it becomes available.
