SCHOOL OF SOCIAL WORK MISSION

Grounded in social justice and inspired by Catholic social thought, we educate and engage students to
learn, grow and develop their professional skills as they prepare for social work practice
in support of health, well-being, and the common good.

The St. Thomas School of Social Work recognizes two goals of generalist social work, which provide the foundation of all levels of practice:

  • to restore and enhance the social functioning of systems of all sizes (individuals, families, groups, organizations, and communities); and
  • to promote a more just society

The University of St. Thomas offers a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) focused on generalist social work practice; a Master of Social Work (MSW) focused on clinical social work practice; and a Doctorate in Social Work (DSW) focused on Education as Practice

We invite you to explore our school, our programs, and our community resources through the tabs, above, and the links, below. Please contact us with any questions - we look forward to connecting with you!
