Dr. Tom Carey
The St. Thomas community is invited to a farewell reception for Dr. Tom Carey, Office of International Student Services, tomorrow, Thursday, April 29. The event will be held from 3 to 4:30 p.m. in the Fireside Room, second floor, Murray-Herrick Campus Center.
Carey, an international student adviser and immigration specialist, has many accomplishments; here are a few:
- 51 years working in education with 44 years in higher education
- Founding member of Minnesota College Personnel Association (MCPA) and Minnesota International Educators (MIE)
- First recipient of the UST Lifelong Learner Award, 2008
- Life-time member of NAFSA: Association of International Educators
- Legacy award from MCPA
- German Fulbright Award
- East-West Center Fulbright Award
- Australian Teacher Exchange Program
