Catherine began her legal practice at a large Minneapolis law firm in tax, trusts, and estate planning. Since then she has spent time at both medium- and small-sized firms across the country, expanding her practice to include insurance defense litigation and eventually appellate practice. She currently works as an of counsel attorney for Howell, Gibson & Hughes, with an emphasis on appellate research and brief writing, and she teaches Lawyering Skills III at the University of St. Thomas School of Law.
