Scholarships are priority one at St. Thomas. 

  • 100% of all first-time, first-year students admitted to St. Thomas are automatically considered for and offered a St. Thomas scholarship.
  • The average cost of tuition and fees is $623 for families who have an adjusted gross income of under $80,000 (data from students who entered Fall 2024).

St. Thomas offers many scholarships to support your education, including several full-tuition scholarships, to help make college affordable. Below is a sampling of scholarships available. You can also search our scholarships portal or fill out this form and a counselor will personally reach out to you. 

Specific City, State or Other Designation Scholarships

  • Scholarships for students in Minnesota, Illinois, Milwaukee, Colorado, Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, and California.
  • Scholarships for those attending Catholic Schools (including Cristo Rey).

Business Scholarships: 

  • The O’Neill Finance Scholars Program is a four-year, full-tuition scholarship for aspiring finance leaders. Scholars receive career coaching, one-on-one mentorship from industry professionals, exclusive internships and hands-on experience with real-world projects
  • The GHR Fellows Program is a highly competitive, transformational undergraduate experience for students pursuing careers in business. Fellows receive full-tuition scholarships and customized programming such as coaching and networking opportunities.
  • The Schulze Innovation Scholarships are awarded to creative, inventive students planning to pursue a business degree with an entrepreneurship concentration.

STEM Scholarships: 

  • First-Year Research Fellow Grant gives multiple $6,000 paid research grants to exceptional engineering students who display an interest in, and passion for, engineering fields of study.
  • Board of Governors Scholarship is a $10,000 renewable Engineering scholarship.

First Generation Scholarships

  • Scholarships given to students with high financial need who are the first in their family to attend college.

National Merit Scholarship Finalists

  • National Merit Scholarship Finalists who declare St Thomas as their first choice institution with the National Merit Scholarship Corporation and who qualify for either a college-sponsored award or a $2,500 National Merit single-payment award are eligible to compete for a $10,000 scholarship award.

 

Scholarship awards are made at the discretion of St. Thomas based on scholarship criteria and St. Thomas priorities, standards, policies, and practices. Institutional scholarships for undergraduate students are limited to students pursuing their first undergraduate degree. Scholarship award decisions will be communicated to students after they receive an offer of admission.
