Abstract: Modern Computed Tomography (CT) and Magnetic Resonance (MR) imaging systems are designed to reasonably balance trade-offs between image quality, cost, safety, and efficiency. When problems arise, an understanding of the underlying mathematical and physical design principles is often useful to guide resolution. This presentation explores case-studies from the perspective of the clinical medical physicist.
