SCHOOL OF SOCIAL WORK: Social work degrees are offered through the School of Social Work sponsored jointly by St. Catherine University and the University of St. Thomas. The social work profession has its roots in the core values of:
Social workers strive to enhance the social functioning of individuals, families, groups, organizations and communities, to support the development of human capacities, to empower at-risk groups and to promote social and economic justice. Our undergraduate and graduate programs of study are rooted in a philosophy of social responsibility and respect for human rights. They prepare students for ethical social work practice and leadership in multiple settings and with diverse populations. School of Social Work programs are open to women and men and classes are available in day, evening and weekend formats. Bachelor's Degree in Social Work (BSW) - entry-level study that prepares students for generalist social work practice with individuals, families, groups, organizations and communities. We also offer a minor in social welfare.Master of Social Work (MSW) - graduate-level study with advanced standing options (for students with bachelor’s degrees in social work) that prepares culturally-responsive clinical social workers for reflective practice, supervision, leadership and practice-focused research.Nationally Ranked, Practice Focused, Community Engaged.
