Applications due tomorrow for VISION's January service trips

VISION applications for January 2010 service-immersion trips are due Tuesday, Oct. 6. E-mail your application on Tuesday (no earlier, no later) to vision@stthomas.edu. The application and specific instructions are available on the Campus Ministry Web site.

Each year VISION (Volunteers In Service Internationally or Nationally) takes groups of St. Thomas students on service-immersion trips all over the world during January Term and over spring break. In January, VISION groups will travel to Kampala, Uganda; Guguleto, South Africa; Laos; Quail Springs, Calif.; El Paso, Texas, and Juarez, Mexico; San Lucas Toliman, Guatemala; and San Felix, Venezuela.

Volunteer duties vary and will include work such as: harvesting coffee in Guatemala, learning about immigration issues at the Mexican border, working with children in Venezuela, delivering food parcels in South Africa, building a bridge in Laos, working on a permaculture farm in California and building a chicken coop in Uganda.
