UST's Genocide Intervention Network meets with Jewish Historical Society
Students from the Genocide Intervention Network, St. Thomas chapter, were guests of the Jewish Historical Society to see "Life in Shadows: Hidden Children and the Holocaust" at the Minnesota History Center.
The special exhibit from the Holocaust Museum in Washington, D.C., tells the stories of Jewish children who were victims of the Nazis. Before the outbreak of World War II, approximately 1.6 million Jewish children lived in the countries eventually occupied by Germany and its allies. By the war's end, nearly all of those children were dead.
The Genocide Intervention Network discussed its fall programs with members of the Jewish Historical Society. The student group plans to participate in events designed to help halt the current genocide in Sudan.
