St. Thomas broke its own conference record and led the nation's non-Division I schools in 2005-06 for ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America honorees.

St. Thomas' eight recipients topped the College Division (institutions from NCAA Division II/III and NAIA). The Tommies also ranked third in Academic All-America recipients among more than 1,000 universities and colleges at all levels.

Notre Dame (14 honorees), Nebraska (11) and St. Thomas (8) were the lone institutions with more than seven for the 2005-06 school year.

UST has received the coveted Academic All-American honor 49 times, including a remarkable 31 honorees in the last six years.
