Mike Mikan now being quoted as the newly named chief financial officer of UnitedHealth Group Inc. is the grandson of Minnesota sports icon and NBA pioneer George Mikan. Mike Mikan, 35, has been with UnitedHealth for eight years, most recently as senior vice president of finance. Mikan got good reviews last week in his inaugural presentation at UnitedHealth's well-attended annual investor's conference in New York. 'He appeared as a smart, young, fresh senior leader within an evolving organization,' said Thomas Carroll and James Shurtleff, in an analyst's report for Stifel, Nicolaus & Co.
