Theology film series continues with 'Men with Guns'

Theology film series continues with 'Men with Guns' Nov. 14

"Men with Guns" will be shown at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 14, in Room 126, John R. Roach Center for the Liberal Arts. It will be followed by a discussion led by Marguerite Spencer, Theology Department.

In the movie, Humberto Fuentes is a wealthy doctor, who, in spite of the advice of his children, takes a trip to visit his former students who work in impoverished villages. His quest awakens him politically when he finds out that his students have been killed by men with guns. Others join him on the quest, including an obnoxious sight-seeing American couple.

"This film challenges us to look at where we are headed both politically and theologically," Spencer said.

This 1997 film, directed by John Sayles, is part of the THEO 101 Film Series.
