The University of St. Thomas Veterans Association will help host the Shrapnel Happens 5K Run/Walk on Veterans Day weekend in Richfield.
The 5K will raise funds and awareness for the Semper Fi Fund, a 501(c)(3) charity that provides assistance to severely injured military service members injured in Iraq, Afghanistan and other post-9-11 military service.
The run/walk will begin at 9 a.m Saturday, Nov. 6, at Veterans Memorial Park in Richfield. Participants can run, jog or walk their way toward the finish line. All ages are invited, but pets are not allowed.
Participants will receive a 5K T-shirt, and official timing for the event will be on site. The race is $25 in advance or $30 the day of the race. Registration is available online or by mail with a printed registration form.
