Dr. Mark Dienhart, Institutional Advancement, was appointed to a three-year term on the board of directors of the Catholic Spirit, the newspaper of the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis.
Dr. Douglas Bass, Graduate Programs in Software, recently presented a two-day seminar on client-server computing for a group of information technologists at the Star Tribune newspaper.
Dr. Barbara Shank, School of Social Work, is the new president-elect of the Minnesota chapter of the National Association of Social Workers. She begins her term as president in 2002. In June she presented a paper, "Social Justice: The Link Between Clinical Social Work Practice and Social Development," at the 12th International Symposium of the Inter-University Çonsortium on International Social Development in Istanbul, Turkey.
