Dr. Thomas Endres, Communication Department, attended the National Communication Association convention Nov. 4-7 in Chicago. He chaired the session, "Coloring Outside the Lines: Innovations in State Associations" in which he co-presented with Larry Schnoor of Mankato on "Foundation-Funded Traveling Workshops in Minnesota." Endres also presented a poster session, "A Hermeneutic Examination of the Sabbatical Year in Leviticus 25 and its Implications for Academic Practice," and served as Minnesota representative to both the regional and national state advisory councils.
Dr. Mitchell Kusy, Graduate Department of Organization Learning and Development, recently gave presentations at the national conference of the Medical Group Management Association in San Diego, Calif. The titles of his two presentations, based on national research he has conducted on physician executives, were "How to Successfully Orient Physicians to a Group Practice" and "Best Practices of Successful Physician Executives."
Dr. Pamela Nice, Faculty Development Center, received a Metropolitan Regional Arts Council grant for the Theatre Lagniappe's upcoming production of "Bernarda's House," based on Garcia Lorca's House of Bernarda Alba. Nice is artistic director of Theatre Lagniappe. The production, on which Theatre Lagniappe and Zorongo Flamenco Dance Theatre will collaborate, opens in August at the Southern Theater in Minneapolis.
Mary Riebe, Entrepreneurship Department, and National Association of Women Business Owners President Pam Krank were featured keynote speakers on "Growing a Business Successfully" at NAWBO's kickoff breakfast Nov. 12.
