First sponsored in 1958, National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association and libraries across the country each April. It is a time to celebrate the contributions of our nation’s libraries and librarians and to promote library use and support.
Library Week at St. Thomas will take place Tuesday through Friday, April 10-13. View the events here and below; we hope you find time to visit often.
Domino Kickoff in O’Shaughnessy-Frey Library
This will be the fourth year that we have opened the annual book sale with a domino display created from library books and bound periodicals. We’ll kick off the first domino at about 10 minutes before noon.

Pick up a snack, learn about some of the library services, find out why you should consider being a librarian, book a tour, enter drawings for prizes, ask your library questions and more.

Snap a photo of your favorite spot in the library
We’d love to find out what your favorite spots are in the library and invite you to submit a photo that you have taken to the library’s Facebook page. Upload the photo in a post on our wall directly (If you have the Facebook app on your phone, go to our Wall at facebook.com/ustlibraries and use the “Share Photo” button.) or email the photo to John Heintz and we’ll post it for you. Have fun; all entries will be put into a drawing and winning photographers will be notified of their prizes.
