Library today: Ireland Library features collection of Judaica; new research technology available

From UST Libraries

The Archbishop Ireland Memorial Library is featuring a collection of Judaica, including recent books in a reading room display and a print bibliography. More than 100 books on Jewish history and literature published between 2005 and 2007 are available in the Ireland Library for interested readers.

CentralSearch, new research tool, available
A test version of a new research tool, CentralSearch, is available via the UST Libraries Web page. CentralSearch searches across scholarly resources, a type of all-in-one search. The quick-search box looks through newspapers, magazines and multidisciplinary journals, as well as CLICnet (books, DVDs, CDs, scores, etc.) – all at the same time. CentralSearch is a great starting point for general research or to get an overview of a topic.  To get focused, in-depth results, you still can search individual research databases as before.

CentralSearch is easy to use, and remember:

  • Use CentralSearch to search several subject-related databases at one time.
  • Use CentralSearch to help determine the best database for more in-depth research, then link directly to that database.
  • Not all UST research databases are included in CentralSearch.

Since CentralSearch is new, we would appreciate feedback. Please send comments and questions to Carolyn DeLuca.
