Great Books Reading Group to Discuss "The Concept of Sin"

The St. Thomas Great Books reading group will discuss The Concept of Sin, by Josef Pieper, on Wednesday, Jan. 12. Participants will meet from 7 to 9 p.m. in Room 388, Owens Science Hall. Pieper is one of the 20th century's most important interpreters of the thought of St. Thomas Aquinas.

The Great Books reading group tentative schedule:

  • Feb. 9 – Heart of Darkness, by Joseph Conrad
  • March 16 – Edith Stein: A Biography, by Waltruad Herbstrith
  • April 13 – Madame Bovary, by Gustave Flaubert
  • May 18 – to chosen
  • June 15 – to chosen

Everyone is welcome; refreshments will be served. The books are available in the University of St. Thomas Bookstore. Look for the Great Books poster near the customer service desk.
