The St. Thomas Great Books reading group will discuss The Concept of Sin, by Josef Pieper, on Wednesday, Jan. 12. Participants will meet from 7 to 9 p.m. in Room 388, Owens Science Hall. Pieper is one of the 20th century’s most important interpreters of the thought of St. Thomas Aquinas.
The Great Books reading group tentative schedule:
- Feb. 9 – Heart of Darkness, by Joseph Conrad
- March 16 – Edith Stein: A Biography, by Waltruad Herbstrith
- April 13 – Madame Bovary, by Gustave Flaubert
- May 18 – to chosen
- June 15 – to chosen
Everyone is welcome; refreshments will be served. The books are available in the University of St. Thomas Bookstore. Look for the Great Books poster near the customer service desk.
