Challenge Yourself, Change Our World
Multicultural Student Services invites you to consider diverse perspectives on moving toward change so that justice is at the forefront.
This year, we have combined our Heritage Month programming with Community Dialogues. We will celebrate the heritage of the four nationally recognized ethnic heritage months through the medium of dance and dialogue.
For Hispanic-Latino Heritage Month, Multicultural Student Services has invited Dr. Augustine F. Romero, the senior academic director for ethnic studies at the Tucson Unified School District. His speech, “A Hunger for Justice: Raising the Voices of Those Lost in the Margin,” will take place from 11:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 29, in Room 304, Murray-Herrick Campus Center. He will address the debate over the existence of Mexican-American/Raza-studies (MARSD) and other ethnic-studies departments within the state of Arizona. Light snacks will be provided.
