Seniors: Are you planning to complete your degree requirements in December or January? St. Thomas Newsroom October 7, 2010 If you are a senior who is planning to complete your undergraduate degree in December or January, now is the time to review your degree evaluation, using Murphy Online, to make sure that you have met all graduation requirements. The University Registrar will notify students whose degree evaluations show that all requirements have been met (assuming successful completion of courses in progress) by e-mail during the week of Oct. 11 confirming that you are eligible to receive your degree. If your evaluation indicates that you still have outstanding requirements, and you believe there is an error, contact your faculty adviser or Academic Counseling, Room 119, O’Shaughnessy Educational Center, (651) 962-6300, for assistance, and do so as soon as possible. If you are a business major, see one of the business advisers located in Room 128, McNeely Hall.Note that the University of St. Thomas now celebrates all new graduates with a commencement ceremony once each year in May. The next commencement ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2011, and all students who complete their degree requirements in December 2010, January 2011, or May 2011 will be eligible to participate in the May 2011 graduation ceremony. To ensure that graduates will have proper documentation that they have completed their UST degree at the earliest possible moment, the University Registrar posts degrees four times a year: following the completion of the fall, January, spring, and summer semesters. Your official transcript will show that you have completed your degree several weeks after the end of the semester in which you complete all degree requirements. For instance, if you complete all degree requirements in December 2010, your official transcript will show your degree date as December 2010, the final transcript will be available in late January, your diploma will be mailed by late February, and you will be eligible to participate in the May 2011 graduation ceremony, together with students who complete their degree requirements in January or May 2011.For more information contact Academic Counseling, Room 119, O’Shaughnessy Educational Center, (651) 962-6300.RelatedSeniors: Planning to graduate in December or January?Seniors: Are you planning to graduate in May?Seniors: Are you planning to graduate in May?Planning to graduate in December?
