Chance to visit with Scott Hamilton announced

An opportunity for 20 families or small groups to visit with Scott Hamilton, possibly to have him sign autographs or to take photos, will be available after his talk here this weekend.

Hamilton, a cancer survivor and one of the world’s best-known figure skaters, will speak at 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, in O’Shaughnessy Educational Center as part of Family Weekend events. His talk, “How the Short Person Can Rise Above Their Expectations,” is free and open to the public.

Hamilton will be able to visit with about 20 small groups at about 9 p.m., or shortly after his talk. Those interested in meeting Hamilton are asked to send an e-mail to Benjamin Nebo, chair of the University Lectures Committee, one of the sponsors of the talk. His e-mail address is btnebo@stthomas.edu.

If there are more than 20 requests, a random drawing will be held to select the winning groups.
