Public Safety Alert: Minneapolis Skyway Robbery

Public Safety would like to follow-up on a UST ALERT notification that was sent regarding a robbery that occurred in the skyway between Minneapolis Opus Hall and the Ryan Co. office building.

On Wednesday, March 16, at 8:19 p.m., a juvenile female came to the Public Safety desk in Minneapolis Opus Hall and reported she and a friend had been robbed in the skyway. The victim said that she and her friend were in the skyway, close to LaSalle Avenue, when they were assaulted by two unidentified suspects, possibly known to them. The suspects took phones, cash, a backpack and jacket from the victims, then fled on foot in the direction of Hennepin Avenue.

The Minneapolis Police Department responded to the incident. A knife was recovered from the scene of the robbery, but it is not known if it was actually used in the commission of the crime. A description of the suspects was not obtained. The victims later left campus with parents.
