Public Safety would like to inform the University of St. Thomas community of an indecent exposure incident that occurred near Cleveland and Selby Avenues.
At approximately 12:37 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 14, a St. Thomas student reported she was walking through the alleyway between Dayton and Selby Avenues, heading towards campus. Upon reaching the street, a vehicle heading west on Selby Avenue stopped near her. The male suspect driving the vehicle said something to the student. The student could not hear the suspect and approached the vehicle. As she approached the vehicle, the suspect gestured towards his exposed genitals.
The student walked away from the vehicle and came to the Public Safety office to report the incident. The vehicle continued west on Selby Avenue, then turned and went north on Finn Street.
The St. Paul Police Department was contacted and a report was filed by the student. The suspect was described as a white male, early 30’s, with short light brown hair, a 5 o’clock shadow of facial hair, wearing a shirt of unknown color and jeans.
The University of St. Thomas believes that descriptors alone are not a valid reason to profile or cast suspicion on any individual. They are included here because they may reasonably assist in identifying the perpetrator of this incident.
