Mirror of Justice, a blog devoted to the development of Catholic Legal Theory, has been engaged in ongoing discussion on the upcoming Presdential election. A lengthy discussion of Pepperdine Law School Dean Doug Kmeic’s article, posted originally on Catholic Online, resulted in some debate among UST faculty members. In separate posts Rob Vischer, Susan Stabile, Greg Sisk and Teresa Collett provide different perspectives on what an Obama nomination means for Catholics and the upcoming presidential race. |
Michael Paulsen invested as Distinguished University Chair |

Executive Vice President and Chief Academic Officer Tom Rochon presided over the investiture of Professor Michael Stokes Paulsen as a Distinguished University Chair on March 27 in the Frey Moot Courtroom. Following his investiture Professor Paulsen gave remarks titled, “Freedom of Speech at a Private University.” |

In the March 2008 issue National Jurist Magazine listed the University of St. Thomas School of Law seventh nationally for the percent of students going into public interest law. National Jurist used American Bar Association information to rank the law schools. Over the past several years the number of University St. Thomas School of Law graduates going into public service has exceeded the national average. For the 2007 graduating class National Jurist reported that 7.3 percent of graduates were engaged in government practice while 12.2 were employed in public interest law. Public interest law includes non-profit and government positions. |
