Learning communities are groups that meet weekly with a student facilitator that reinforce concepts that are covered in class each week. Some of the advantages of participating in a learning community include developing higher level critical thinking and problem solving which will increase your efficacy in studying the subject, will enhance your "self management " skills while creating a stronger social support system and academic relationships with students who are learning to work with the same material. There will be a learning community for each section of CHEM 111 and your instructor should provide you with information about registration process, dates and times.
