Designing Your Poster

BASIC DESIGN

The set up is similar for any program.  Artwork must be uploaded to the poster management tool in jpg file format and be under 10MB in file size.

SETTING UP YOUR POSTER FOR UPLOAD WITHOUT A TEMPLATE

Our templates are designed for placement purposes only and are recommended when creating poster designs.

  1. Start a new document New document terms vary depending on software program, can be document, page, canvas or art board.
  2. Set document size to 1366px x 768px at 72ppi
  3. Design your artwork Any background color or image should go to the edge of the artboard, text needs to stay inside edges and spaced away from any edges.
  4. Create your jpg file Process varies depending on software program. You will most likely need to save as or export to a JPEG format.
  5. Upload your jpg file to the poster management tool A proof will be generated within the management tool for review.
  6. Review your proof The proof is your file that has been processed for display. Fonts, images, and colors can change or disappear during the proofing process. It is critical that you review the JPEG proof.
  7. Submit your poster If the proof looks good, submit your poster.

SETTING UP YOUR POSTER FOR UPLOAD WITH A TEMPLATE

Our templates are designed for placement purposes only and are recommended when creating poster designs. Open the template depending on your design program. Templates contain design instructions and those layers should be deleted prior to saving the poster as a jpg. 

Photoshop:

  1. Photoshop Poster TemplateDownload Photoshop Poster Template
  2. Open the psd template file in Photoshop.
  3. Follow guidelines on the template layer(s).
  4. Delete the template layer(s).
  5. Save: Go to file, “Save for Web & Devices”, and select jpg in the drop down on the right.

Illustrator:

  1. Open the ai file in Illustrator.
  2. Follow guidelines on the template layer(s).
  3. Delete the template layer(s).
  4. Save: Go to file, “Save for Web & Devices”, and select jpg in the drop down on the right.
