All distance learning courses can be challenging, enriching and convenient, but they are not for everyone. They should not be seen as an easy way to earn credits. In fact, these learning environments require as much or more time and energy than traditional classroom learning.

If your computer can run the latest version of popular browsers, it's powerful enough for a St. Thomas online course. If online streaming movie sites and interactive websites work correctly, then our courses will too.
High-speed Internet (i.e. - DSL or cable modem) is highly recommended for all online learners, and is required for any courses that include video or conferencing. You can test your speed online at sites like Speed Test. Recommended minimum speeds are 3 Mbps download (5+ preferred), 0.5 Mbps (500 Kbps) upload.
