In light of the important calls for greater justice in our society, this talk will address the meaning of justice in its relationship to wages. In 1981, John Paul II wrote that “a just wage is the concrete means of verifying the justice of the whole socioeconomic system.” What does a just wage mean in the concrete and what institutional reforms are necessary to contribute to making our system more just.
